La Baronia Wedding Photographer

Last October I was at La Baronia to photograph Steph and Andy’s wedding. Recently, I found their handwritten thank you note in my mailbox, sent from Philadelphia.

“Michele, thank you for being our Barcelona wedding photographer. The photos will stay with us. The photos were better than we could have ever imagined at capturing the essence of the day and helping us remember. It was great to work with you.”

Capturing the essence of the day

Capturing the essence of the day: where you stand and when you take a shot is about getting in sync with what is happening in front of you. You are experiencing and observing something alive and complex, with multiple parts unfolding at the same time in different spaces. You have to analyse it, and at the same time organise and synthesise what you are seeing and feeling into a photographic reportage, bringing those elements together within your own photographic voice.

For the future you

I like to think that part of my job is for the future you, twenty years from now. These images will become part of your life and your memories, for as long as you and your family keep returning to them.

Human connection

To my future couples: here it’s all about human connection—how I embrace you, your people, and the venue, and how I get into a flow that allows everything to come together naturally.

La Baronia is a wedding venue often listed among the most established locations in Spain. The building is defined by its stone structure and open terraces, set directly above the valley. The architecture shapes how the day unfolds, with spaces that open outward rather than enclosing people. It is a place where time seems to have stayed still. The stone, the structure, and the way the building sits above the valley all point to a long history.
